Chocolate Pound Cake
I have had this recipe in my recipe box for over 20 years, so I don't know the origin of it. I think it may be from an old cook book, but I'm not sure. 
                                Chocolate Pound Cake
                                                                                      

                                                                                                                                                            
350

1 2/3 cup sifted flour                                                           1 1/3 cups sugar

1 tsp baking soda                                                                1 tsp salt

1 1/4 cup milk                                                                     1/2 cup shortning

1 tsp vanilla                                                                          2 eggs

3 oz premelted, unsweetened chocolate
                                                                          *****

Grease and flour pan(s)

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl

Blend well on low speed. Beat 3 minutes  (or hand-beat 550 strokes)

Pour into 2 8X8" pans, one 9X9" pans, or cupcake cups

Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees (20-25 minutes for muffin cups)

HINT:  When greasing the pan, use powdered chocolate in the pan instead of flour. It doesn't leave white powder all over the bottom of the cake.
