A disagreement ensued with the local school district advocating the use of instructional television in the classrooms—the church did not agree because television is sinful, and pulled nearly 50 children out of the Pittsburg public schools.
Several weeks later, interestingly, the school board voted "yes" for the church children, but they were too late, church officials had already begun the process of starting a Christian school. The church stood its ground and decided enough was enough.
