 The
University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons finished third in the UAAP
Season 70 with four titles — the fifth straight crown in Men's Swimming, a "double crown" in Judo: the fourth crown of the Men's and the tenth UAAP championship to Women's, en route to record-setting 14 total titles, and a "sweep" for the fourth title in Softball.
University of Santo Tomas held the overall title for 10 years since after losing it to the Fighting Maroons on the 1997-1998 season. Far Eastern University edged out UP by a measly point to take second place.
The following shows the points garnered by the teams in the past season. (15 points are awarded to champions, 12 for runner-up, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, and 1 are given to the other teams in order of finish).
