Club standards Pacific Coast Modular Club
Important information:

-- Peco turnouts are preferred by our club for all mainline turnouts. Peco turnouts do not require a switch motor or ground throw, due to having their own springs.

-- Track only needs to meet the interface layout where it will meet with other modules. Modules that have a track that varies from the standard are considered "Module sets". Each "Module set" is limited to 16'. At each end of the "module set" the track must meet the standard.

-- Members may not have corner modules.

-- Track must remain straight and level for at least 6" from end of module, this includes the 3" space for filler piece as well as 3" of track. This is only reqiured at interface.

-- Only electronically controlled uncoupling magnets are allowed on mainline.

-- Grades on mainline are limited to 3% with 1% transitions.
Grades may not start within 6" from end of module.

-- Tunnels on mainline are limited to 36".

-- Mainlines must have 3
3/4" height clearance above rail. This applies for portals, signals or anything else overhead.

-- Mainlines must have 3/4" clearance from edge of rails on each side.

-- Nothing must be above railhead within 3/4" of side of rail on mainline.

-- All structeurs must be at least 1" from side of rail on mainline.

-- No track may be within 2" on center of mainline.

-- Bridges are limited to 36" on mainline. Bridges on mainline must have guard rails. Bridges on curves must have a side to prevent equipment from falling in case of derailment. (girder, railing, etc.)

-- Rail jointers must be used on mainline current with club policies.

-- Filler tracks must be used at interface of modules current with club policies.

-- HO Scale Cork is the only roadbed acceptable on mainline. Cork must be used to the end of module, even where the filler pieces are used.
