DSP Service Projects: Going Green!!
Earth Day- The Circle K used recycle paper to make posters celebrating Earth Day. Many of the posters also had facts about recycling and ways to save the environment.
OCM- The theme says it all, "Going Green Olympics". Many games were played that dealt with recycling. There was the newspaper airplane toss, the balloon pop recycling facts, and the recycling relay. Also, there was a collection of old newspapers for recycling.
Reverse Trick-or-Treat- Instead of making the usual paper cards for the residents, this year we made foam magnets instead. They went over just as well while saving paper waste.
Gobble Gobble- The event hosted by IUP helped the environment in many ways. We cut old t-shirts and braided them for dog toys, we used old newspapers to make a disco ball, and many others. It was nice to shared the thrill of saving the environment with other PA Circle Ker's
Nursing Home Visit (Thanksgiving)- We also scrapped the paper card idea and made foam door hangers for the residents. Again, they were pleased with the inventiveness of the members of the club.
