Meeting Minutes
October 6, 2008
Start Time 8:05
Members Present:15
Denny was there along with 2 other local Kiwanis members.
We started the meeting talking about interpack which is Oct. 24-26, this
is basically a social event for Circle-Kers around the state to get
together and do workshops and interact. there will also be meals and a
bonfire, talent show, and dance.
If you at are interested please let me know as soon as possible because
the deadline to register is this Friday. It is a $35 registration fee but
depending on how many on interested we may be able to cover the expenses.
There is also PACK T-Shirts available for $10 and we need to know if you
want one, and have the money by Friday.
If you do want a shirt you can drop the money off to Stacy V in the
Academic Success Center all day on Wednesday or Friday.
Next we discussed Gobble Gobble which is in our green schedule booklets
and supposed to be held at IUP but as of right now it has been canceled.
I know a few of you were interested in doing dog walking for the Humane
Society, if you are please let Stacy know at the next meeting because
there are some forms to fill out and training to do.
Next is Farandas Farm, which is a social event we do every year. It is
basically a farm where they have a barn and you can buy pumpkins, apple
cider and other seasonal item. But the best part is the corn maze which is
very large and you have to find your way out by answering questions. It is
a lot of fun and this year we want to do it at night with flashlights so
we its scarier. It would be at 9pm and our dates to choose from are
October 17th, 18th, or 25th. Please email me back and let me know which
day is the best for you!
Lastly we had two local Kiwanis come to speak to us about a local Senior
Miss Padget that they are hosting at Johnstown Area High School. Girls are
coming from all around the state to compete for about $11,000 in
scholarship money. They need 3-9 girls per day to help the contestants get
ready and dressed, etc. The dates are Friday October 31st from 6-9pm.
Saturday Nov. 1st from 6-9pm and Sunday the 2nd from 1-3pm. The only thing
is you either have to go to all three days or none at all because Friday
is the dress rehearsal and Saturday is the show, and i think Sunday is the
crowning.
If you are at all interested please let me know as soon as possible
because they need to know if we are helping or not.
Meeting Ended: 8:30
PLEASE REMEMBER if you have summer hours and have not turned them into me
yet do that as soon as possible!!!
