This very unusual picture was taken one snowy day, by an adventurer who had to scramble high up a steep and icy hillside across the Sacramento River from the Resort.  The photo shows the grounds and main buildings -- the two-story main Guest Building is obscured, and only barely visible in the very center of the photo (just above the left end of the long, low building in the center).  Salmon cooking rings, used by the Wintu, were along the Sacramento River bank in the right foreground.  The photo is difficult to date, but fruit trees, which were very large, mature, fruit-bearing trees by 1920, are only small trees barely visible here.
