Friends' Minds
Ever wonder what goes on in the minds of others?
Who you are to people?
Beyond your sisters and your brothers?

I do
And it can be a frightening experience

The people you neglect, the people you love, the people you hate
They all have minds and things to contemplate
What brings us to them?
Is it merely the steps of fate?

Are you a friend?
Or are you a foe?
Are you even somebody that people might know?

To somebody somewhere
You're something
What are you going to make of it?
Will you throw it away or cherish it?

We've all made our mistakes
We've all succeeded at something
It's the outcome and what our hearts tell us
That is what the truth will bring

Make it what you will
Work on things that you want to
Will they be actions that end with you ill?
Or actions that benefit you?

Do you desire
To churn their inner fire?
Treat them as you want to be treated
And find out what kind of friends they are when you have succeeded

Expectations
Negligence
Companionship
Loneliness
What is it that you will reflect?

Show them you care
Show them that you're there
Become their air
Needed and desired at all costs
If not, simply become someone they have lost.

Who are you?
What do you do?
Do I know you?
Will I matter to you?

People are all around
Will you be someone they want to claim?
Or will they want you to drown?
Will you take away their pain or fill them with disdain?

Are you happy?
Or are you being treated crappy?

Look within
You will find it
Do you have what it takes to be their friend?

I hope so

This world can be a lonely place
What will you do to make people care
And recognize your face?

What are they thinking?
Who are they?
Who are you?
Who are we?
Don't be afraid to ask
And don't hide behind a mask

Give it your all
And somebody will be there to catch your fall.
