Me and You
I lay awake wondering what's going on
Looking back, thinking of things that went wrong

Who am I to judge anybody?
Why do people care so much about what others do?
Is there really that much of a difference between me and you?

Adults play children's games
With little knowledge of their personal shames

Why do we behave the way we do?
Seriously, what's the difference between me and you?

We're all human
"Can't we all just get along?"

Everything we do, people are quick to point
And say, "That's wrong"

Who are they to judge anybody?
Act all buddy-buddy
But talk trash like they're bigger than everybody

Political games of self motivation
What started this crazy mutation?

Is it a mutation?
Or are we seriously that evil upon creation?

You...
Me...
Everybody in between...
Things aren't always what they seem
People get caught up in crazy, elaborate schemes

Looking for genuine people
Full of warm embrace
And a tender hand
To caress another face

Everybody needs to change
The world needs to adjust and rearrange

To a kinder
More truthful world

Instead of this backstabbing
Ulterior motivated
Behind-the-back blabbing
Mode of existence I've already stated

So I ask again...
What's the difference between me and you?
I'm human
And you're human too

Let's be genuine
Let's be kind
Let's set back the hands of time

Honor your words
Don't use your words as swords

I'll do my part
You do yours
One day we'll celebrate
How we contributed to a better world
Up high at the gate
With the golden doors.
