Mike Markowski is the publisher of Birdflight As The Basis Of Aviation by hang gliding's original pioneer Otto Lilienthal. The book was first published in 1889; during the reign of Queen Victoria. (Lilienthal was based in Germany.) After logging more than 2 000 flights he was killed (in his hang glider) in 1896.

Markowski has used new photographic and printing methods to reproduce the original work. You can obtain Birdflight As The Basis Of Aviation via the USHGA. (The USHGA's web site is included in the links section of the main menu.)
