The Spirit behind the name of our church

Romans 8:1 says "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
That means, if you live in union with Jesus, your drive and motive and nature is changed by His Spirit who lives in you, and verse 2 has even more understanding.

Romans 8:2 says "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

Too often, ministers try to remove the impact of verse 2 by saying it is referring to some "sins" and make reference to drunkenness, adultry, murder, stealing, drug abuse; and such; But, it is in reference to the old covenant, which is full of curses for disobedience and blessings for obedience. The new covenant is not based on our ability to perform, but our willingness to submit to his Lordship, where the Spirit and attitude of God gradually process more and more into his finished product he sees by faith.

Verse 13 & 14 tell us that being led of the Spirit means we work with Gods Spirit in us to get sin out and that equals being in his family. If you do not permit the Spirit to convince you of sin and allow him to get rid of it, you would not be led of the Spirit, nor in Christ, nor free from condemnation.
There is life in Christ the anointing of God, and if this life is truely in you, you should welcome Gods correction and instruction into your life, for it is Gods glory to have patience and mercy on those who put their trust in him for real; But those who dont genuinely want Gods Spirit to lead them, they will not love his truth or refining of their lives; They live after the flesh and will only have condemnation in the end. But we trust that will not be the case with you; We hope, If you came this far, you must be open to God being Lord and not just refer to him as saviour.


Here are a couple verses about the attitude God is teaching us in the new covenant
John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickeneth (makes alive); the flesh profiteth (helps) nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
1st Corinthians 15:45 "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit."
Hebrews 10:15 "Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Having therefore, brethern, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having a high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering;(for he is faithful that promised;)"
