Cathedral and Ruins
The next place I toured was the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas.  This church has spectacular architecture and artwork.  My favorite was the Lord's Supper with the Guinea Pig.  This is a great place to see the fusion of Incan and European culture.  The Cathedral is used for services as well, though I didn't attend any.

The Cathedral proveded guides for tours, which is a great service.  There is so much history in every corner of the buildings, from the Incan stones in the foundation, to the tales of battle in the first building.  The guide gave a very complete tour of the chapels, artwork, and even a trip to one of the catacombs.

The only other place I was able to visit was Sacsayhuaman and the surrounding ruins.  I only had a morning to view them, so I took a taxi up, and the taxi driver gave me a tour.  I had a great time.  My favorite site was Q'enqo because of all the astronomical artifacts.  Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to go back for one of the equinoxes and see animal shadows.  Or maybe not.  Such a special occasion is probably reserved for important people. :-P
