My birth name is Lyn, and I use that name in both ritual and daily life.  My background is pretty simple.  I am a student of Freya Aswynn, and have been working with the runes for the past 6 years.  I am heathen, and live in Seattle, Washington.

If you go through the website, you'll notice that every once and a while I discuss my background, usually through the exploration of my ancestry.  While ancestry is important in my own development, I do not think it very important what your blood ancestry is- if the gods call on you, or if you feel a pull towards heathenry or rune work, then by all means possible, learn and work with them.  Like other religious and spiritual paths, it is about personal growth, not about race, ethnicity, gender or sexuality.

It is also very important for me to mention that I come to heathenry from the perspective of an earth based spirituality- and by this I mean that the natural forces of the world and universe matter and are included in my belief system and my practices.  The more I explore the runes, the more I have to be outside, working with the landspirits, working with nature, working with all beings involved in natural forces.

Finally, why do I call this the Urdaic path, where others may call it the Odian or Odaic path.  This is because of my own outlook on the Gods, Norns, and the evoloution and development of the runes.  Odin pulled the runes from the well, which is thought to be the well of the Norns and the base of the tree Yggdrasil.  By doing so he was transformed.  The runes were there, he took them from the well. This is where my choice in names begins.  That being said, Odin is a fantastic teacher and guide, he has much to teach, and following his path is very honorable and positive.  It is just that I did not devote myself to him, and cannot claim to walk his path though he does teach me a great deal.
