opnly by expressing what it wants to say in a direct way without switching to anything not
straightforward. But its adopting such an attitude, in other words its having a
sotradictory nature causes it to get into trouble. It, therefore,can be called as ' the
art was that was driven away from every side.' Caricature is a language of drawing. The
effort to establish a language with lines has been growing along with the efforts of life
itself. These efforts,unfortunately, do not always go parelel with each other and from
time to they would be thrown into different ways. Sometimes you happen to see othat a
sudden wind would blow and throw it into totally different corners. And sometimes you
happen to find it lost in somewhere far away. It may go pale and even disappear. But
sometimes it is no surprise to see its fresh face suddenly. This, in fact,is an adventure
in which a caricaturist and its drawings share an honourable struggle." |

Çizgisini kaybetmeyen çizgiler
" Karikatür, söylemek istediğini net söyleyen dolambaçlı yollara
girmeyen açık sözlü bir sanat dalı. Ama böyle bir tavır içinde olması, daha
doğrusu muhalif bir karekter taşıması, onun başını belaya sokmasına neden oluyor.
Bu yüzden dokuz köyden de kovulan bir sanat dalı diye adlandırabiliriz. Karikatür bir
çizgi dilidir. Çizgi de dil yaratma çabası, hayatın yaratma çabası ekseniyle
yaşadıkça gelişiyor. Bu her zaman birbirine parelel giden bir çaba değil. Zaman
zaman sağa sola savruluyor. Bazen bir bakıyorsunuz, bir rüzgar çıkmış. Onu
bambaşka bir diyarlara götürmüş. Kimi zaman kaybolmuş silikleşmiş ya da tam tersi
yüzü gözü açılmış, damarlarına kan gelmiş bir halde bulabilirsiniz. Bu bir
çizerin çizgisiyle çok onurlu bir mücadeledeki yol arkadaşlığı birlikte
yaşadıkları bir serüven bu."
