Gunmen fire shots at prosecutor's home
LAHAT, South Sumatra: Unidentified gunmen shot fired shots at the house of a Lahat
regency senior prosecutor last month, but no fatalities were reported, it was revealed
on Wednesday.
Patuan Siahaan, an investigative officer at the South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office,
said that the shooting happened on July 19 when Heryanto, the chief of Lahat
Regency Prosecutor's Office, was watching television with his family at home.
Suddenly, a volley of gunfire ripped through the house's windows and walls, shattered
the glass, and the gunmen immediately fled the scene.
Patuan alleged that the shooting was apparently a warning for Heryanto, who is
investigating several high-profile corruption cases in the regency. The case was
reported to police on July 20, but no arrests have been made. -- JP
