Priest Shot Dead in Palu Church
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:A priest, Susianti Tinalele, was murdered while leading
religious services at Efata church in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Sunday (18/07).
An as-yet-unidentified man with an automatic weapon shot the priest four times at
around 7pm.
During the incident, four other people, who were among the congregation in the
church, were seriously injured.
At the time of this report, they were being treated at the Budi Agung hospital.
The murderer had earlier pointed his gun at the security guard of the church in order to
gain entrance.
Up to now, there is a police line at the shooting location and the police are carrying
out weapon raids in Palu.
Central Sulawesi Police chief, Brig. Gen. Taufik Ridha, is still holding a closed
meeting with his subordinates to try and stop murderer escaping from Palu.
Central Sulawesi Police spokesman Adj. High Comm. Victor Batara said that the
police would carry out raids in Palu to capture the priest’s murderer. (Darlis
