FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Not a very imaginative use of
graphics or fonts, seems simple, more like a homepage, not a commercial
web site. It looks like it was created in a hurry with some pictures thrown
in here and there, with no real theme. There are only pictures of the product
and on the last page pictures of a few sports, but the sport pictures show
no direct connection to the product. It seems the webmaster was copying
other web sites for energy drinks in terms of what information they need
to put.
NAVIGATION:
Very easy to use, there is a
site map on the left at all times.
There are no links to any other
products or events, or anything relating to the product.
MATERIAL UP TO DATE:
There is no information that
needs updating, however on one of the pages it states when it was last
updated, and that was in February of 1999.
PROBLEMS OBSERVED:
The biggest problem seems to
be the boringness of the web site. It does not catch attention and does
not entertain. So a potential customer will probably lose interest and
visit the competition.
No links to any other web sites.
There is no direct order form
for the product, you have to call or write by “snail mail” to order the
product.
USEFUL APPLICATIONS:
Detailed information on the products
ingredients.
Tells you the price of the product
and gives you a special Internet offer, if you order a large quantity.
A fill out form if you are interested
in being a distributor.
MARKETING STRATEGIES:
A special Internet offer to lure
you into buying the product.
Lots of pictures of the product
– increasing brand recognition (if the customer actually goes through the
whole web site).
If interested in distribution
there is a mini questionnaire and they obtain some of personal information
from the people that submit it.
E-COMMERCE CONSIDERAIONS:
You cannot actually order the
product over the Internet, so there is no security needed.
