Welcome  to  the  Web Camp of  the 3rd Iowa Infantry of Civil War Reenactors.  We are a group of history buffs, who share  a common  interest in the Civil War, and especialy  in the Civil War history of Iowa. We have come together to form a full time Iowa Civil War Reenactors Club.
We  have  chosen to portray an  infantry company of the historical 3rd Iowa Volunteers.  This  original Regiment saw exstensive service  in  almost every theater of the war, but more  interestingly, early service in  North Missouri, which gives us an opportunity to portray ourselves  (as the 3rd Iowa),  just  a  little  bit more often.
One of our goals as an organization, is to unite the many independent Living Historians  and  small  messes  and  detachments  that currently reside in Iowa, and build a full time  and  solid Iowa company.  For too long now, there has been a lack of unity and organization amongst Iowa Infantry Reenactors.  No solid organization to give  the  true  bona  fide  company  exsperiance, and  to represent Iowa Proper.
Addtionaly, we  hope to offer a chance, for those who share our interest in Iowa Civil War history, to come together, and be able to share  a  common interest.  The 3rd Iowa, as  a reenactment organization, is  made up of many different folks, from   almost   every  aspect  of  life.   From  the  common   working  man  to  the professional.  However,  we all  share  the  same  interest, and come together about once a month, and march as the 3rd Iowa Infantry Volunteers.
