Our music is quite eclectic and we strive to achieve a completely different sound- 'unplugged' comes close to describing it. The instruments we use are all acoustic (except for the bass guitar), which includes classical and steel string guitars, cello, English flute, bamboo flute, violin, percussion, mandolin, banjo, sax and the likes. For the audience Saanko is a very new and wholesome experience.
Our songs are in Bengali and are about anything and everything on earth - love, dreams, hope, the times, self-introspection, social observation, nature... The lyrics attempt to be spontaneous and sincere. Wit and humour, at times are our weapons but we avoid being sarcastic and contemptuous. The arrangement only adds colour to the content. We deliberately stay away from creating a musical cacophony.
