A recruiter will meet with you in order to understand your needs and goals and will show you the many ways the Marine Corps can help you accomplish both. When you decide to become a Marine, you will agree to a Term of Enlistment (TOE), generally between 4 & 6 years, and then enter the Delayed Entry Program that will allow you to reserve your departure for training for up to one year.
Your recruiter will help you to uncover careers, technical skills and educational opportunities that support your goals. Initial screening, a physical examination (MEPS), and aptitude test (ASVAB) establish your eligibility for various programs. Upon successful completion of Recruit Training, Marines begin Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) training.
Following MOS training, Marines are stationed to a variety of duty assignments and locations while continuing to serve Corps and country for the duration of their term of enlistment.
