William Randolf Hearst (1863-1951) was born rich and became richer by owning various things like newspapers, magazines, and movie-making companies. He also had a love for a particular bit of California. This is where he built Hearst Castle. This place speaks opulence, especially when you start hearing about 4th century AD Corinthian antiquities, centuries old persian carpets, and a Roman sarcophagus from 3rd century AD! This guy sure liked to collect stuff! Not only that, but his place is big!
