- arrival will be Friday March 17, 2006 thhru Sunday March 19, 2006.
We will stay at the Bachelor Officers Quarters. If you are interested,
please email me (click the button on the left).
Hi, glad you stopped by.
I was assigned to the 3399th School
Squadron in Jan l960. This was my first duty assignment after completing
Basic Training
at Lackland. I was assigned
to the 3399th as an orderly room clerk.
That has been 40 years ago and my
memory is not as good as I would like for it to be. But to the best
of my memory, the people listed below were the permanent party personnel
during my two year stay at the 3399th.
Capt Morris H. Weiser was
the Commander
Lt Jon P. Jehn was the Adjutant
M/Sgt Robert H. Papizan
was the First Seargent
T/Sgt J.J. Miller was the
Supply Seargent
S/Sgt Bobby G. Kiser was
the Chief Clerk
A2C Phillip Helton was a
Supply Clerk
A3C Eddie Taylor was a Supply
Clerk also, I think.
A3C Babbis was a Supply
Clerk also, I think.
If you happen along and served at
the 3399th during the 1960 - 1962 period and see any errors in the above
listing, please let me know.
If you happen upon this
page and were at some time, assigned to the 3399th, please email me any
comments, suggestions, pictures or etc. and I will include your input into
this page.
On Jan 26, 2002, I talked with Mrs
Papizan by phone. She said that Sgt. Papizan spent a tour of duty
in Vietnam after he left the 3399th. He then retired and went to
work for civil service. She also said that Sgt Papizan died of a
heart attack in 1983.
Also on Jan 26, 2002, I talked with
Lt Jehl. Lt Jehl left active duty when his obligation was up and
transferred to the Air Force Reserve. He is now retired from civil
service and from the Air Force Reserve. Lt Jehl was glad to hear
from me after all these 40 years and said he would like to attend a reunion
of the 3399th.
I am also trying to locate others
on the list above that we served with. If anyone that served with
the 3399th would like to come to a reunion, email me and I will let you
know as soon as we set a definate date for the reunion.
Thank you,
Ralph Dukes
Former Orderly Room Clerk
3399th School Squadron
John "Doc" Savage, was assigned to
3399th May 65 - Apr 66 and he wrote me an email and gave me this information:
"Lt. Harter was the CO and a Sgt Griffin
(Staff or Tech) was in the training office with an A1C Ernhardt or Everhart).
I remember the 1st Shirt was an elderly guy, BIG dude with salt & pepper
hair in a crewcut... Just can't remember his name!! ... his name
began with B..."
