L A S   V E G A S   was a big success. We had winners, good food, good entertainment and lots of fun.

The attendees went to various shows around Las Vegas. Some saw Wayne Newton, (mixed reviews), Star Trek (great review), Tournament of Kings, (reviewed below), and some just hit the slots with mostly good results ($1000+ was one lucky strike.) .

The Tournament of Kings: We were treated to a lovely meal of soup, Cornish game hens, potatoes and broccoli without the benefit of utensils. It was a lot of fun sitting together waving chicken legs as we were talking to one another. There was a tournament with every section of the hall being represented by their own champions. Most of the group were Russians...see how far we've come since the towers??  There were knights on horses, a jester, minstrels, Merlin himself and a lot of fun. .
We traveled around Las Vegas by the local trolley...over every BUMP and JOLT that was known to man. Also, some of us to wait for another trolley when ours began to leak gasoline. What an adventure!!!

The dinner-cruise had one snag which turned out well.

HATS OFF TO JOE HURSEY

From Tom Bradley:
We had a wonderful time at the reunion with one exception -- when Carla Wascalas was choking on her prime rib.   The quick action of Joe Hursey who performed the Heimlich maneuver on her saved her. The staff of the Lake Meade cruise boat just stood there in shock.
.
Carla wrote:
Be sure to express my gratitude to Joe for saving my life.  I really couldn't breathe at one point and was really scared.  It took him several tries but he did it and it was a large piece of prime rib. Joe and I as well as my children are very grateful.  Joe Hursey left the next day before I could thank him again.

THE MEETING
President Henry Pape called the meeting to order.
.
The Minutes of the last meeting and the Treasurer's Report were read and accepted.
.
Henry was presented with a plaque for his year of service as president. The business of the meeting mainly consisted of discussion about planning the next reunion. Some locations were suggested but no vote was taken at this time.

There was a suggestion that the location could be selected for the same place and time as the TTV Reunion, with separate business meetings and agendas but with the possibility of some mutual gatherings.
Certainly friends could meet. Without coordination with the TTV, however, this idea cannot be achieved.

Election of Officers:
After discussion about changing the length of terms (requiring a change in by-laws) the vote was called for.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Planning Committee for the 2005 Texas Tower Association reunion would like to have input from all interested parties as to a choice of meeting place for next year. If your area has not been favored, and if you would like to see a reunion there, please answer this e-mail, or write a committee member to tell them of your choice.

We have had several on Cape Cod, one in Colorado Springs, one in Idaho, one in Hampton Virginia, and one in Las Vegas. Many people have not yet been able to attend a reunion and travelling distance may be a factor. Speak up.

The suggestions made at the Meeting are:

1 -- Branson
2 -- San Antonio
3 -- Cape Cod
4 -- Akron
5 -- A cruise
Please respond with your thoughts on these or other places.
