Winter has most of the country in its grip but those of you in Florida are probably laughing all the way to the beach. Everyone has politics on their minds but there will be a reunion before the national election.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FROM THE PRESIDENT: The next reunion of the Texas Tower Association will be held in Las Vegas Nevada. Planning is still underway and there will be a separate announcement about those plans. Reunion 2004 will be held sometime between the middle of September & the first part of October 2004. We are currently in touch with three Hotels there and we should have some kind of a deal by Feb.1st, 2004. . A flag was delivered to the Raymond D. Martel family of Biddeford, Maine -- he is survived by his sons Donald and Robert and their mother, Mrs. Laurence Martel of Biddeford, ME -- and to the family of A/1c Larry V. Wolford of Houston,Texas. His wife is Mrs. Connie (Wolford) Garcia of Houston, Texas. His son Jerry Joseph was 11/2 years old and his daughter Pamela Lynn (Wolford) Adams was 6 months old when he was lost at sea. He was a veteran of duty on Tower 4. Mrs.Nelda Rausch spouse of William (Bill) Rausch notified us of his death on December 18, 2003, and asked that her husbands name be removed from our membership roles. Size: Also Alvin Dale Size, Tower 2 for nine months and Headquarters, Newburgh, NY from which he was assigned to an acceptance team for Tower 3 -- 1955-'57 Died November 24, 2003. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PHOTOS OF TOWER MODEL Fred Aschert, who has built the models on display at Peterson Air and Space Museum, Colorado Springs, CO, and the USAF Museum, Dayton Ohio, made available some fascinating pictures of the interior of the models as well as some shots showing a unique perspective on the model.
