| Buffy Summers: The current vampire slayer, Buffy is an energetic college sophmore. She has been fighting vampires in Sunnydale for four years, often with the aid of an ever changing group of friends known as the Scooby gang. |
| Xander Harris: One of the core Scoobies, Xander has fought beside Buffy from the beginning, even going so far as to bring her back to life after she was killed by the Master. Xander has been best friends with Willow since babyhood and is currently a construction worker. |
| Willow Rosenberg: Also a member of the Scooby core, Willow has been Buffy's best friend since her arrival. Willow is also a college sophomore at UC Sunnydale and frequently patrols with Buffy. |
| Rupert Giles: Giles, as he is affectionately called, has been Buffy's Watcher since her arrival in Sunnydale. Although now in a steady job as the owner of the Magic Shoppe, Giles has had a colorful past few years in the job market, including three years as a high school librarian(before the high school burnt down) and one year of unemployment. |
| Anya: Anya is one of the newest members of the Scoobies. Although more than a thousand years old, Anya still has trouble adjusting to life as a human. She frequently shares interesting bits of info she has picked up over the years and can always be counted on for a laugh as she learns the ways of the mortal world. |
