Gadget Descriptions

WristComms: As described briefly at the beginning and in the Hardy Boys dimension, wristcomms are wrist watches, calendars, day planners, and communicators all rolled into one. What I didn’t write at the beginning is that there are special earpieces. Each agent has a tiny receiver in her ear, back near the eardrum. These receivers are undetectable by modern scanning devices, including metal detectors, and can only be removed by use of a special tool. They enable the wearer to hear everything that is transmitted over the frequency used by the wrist units. The wrist units themselves are used purely for transmitting; they cannot receive communications.

Dimension Hopper: Invented in 1979 by a man named Dennis Hopper, dimension hoppers are used exactly how they are named: for hopping dimensions. Each dimension hopper has several discs, resembling poker chips, which are actually highly advanced locator devices. Each chip is tuned into the particular frequency of the hopper it is associated with and anyone in bodily contact with a chip when the hopper is activated will hop. Hoppers are controlled by the mind of the person activating the hopper; whatever dimension they are thinking about when the hopper is activated is where they will go. This device can also be used for time travel, which is why the government tries to keep as few of these around as possible and limits the number of people who know about such devices.
