Chiba Mamoru (Darien) was about 6 when his parents were killed in a car accident, which he miraculously survived. He had amnesia and couldn't even remember his own name. In the hospital, he met Fiore, a new friend who was an alien.
Mamoru was Tuxedo Kamen long before he knew it. Every time Sailor Moon was in trouble, he'd transform into Tuxedo kamen and help fight the Dark Kingdom (Negaverse). He learned his true identity when he found one of the Rainbow Crystals.
Mamoru is Usagi's boyfriend, and loves to tease her. He provides a lot of love for her though. In the beginning of the R Season, he transformed into Tsukikage No knight (Moonlight Knight). He is also King Endymion of 30-century Crystal Tokyo.
