We are just starting out, today August 19th 2005. This group is as a result of some of use getting together and realizing that most of us had been harassed on the internet and there was nothing we could do about it. When joining our group please understand that while we may be small today, soon we plan to be large enough to make a difference. Our #1 goal is to eventually convince our government to put laws into place to protect not only children online, but everyone online. We want to make it illegal for public online communities, groups, message boards, and blogs to allow harrassment of any kind, and to impose penalties on those organizations who turn a blind eye to this behavior within their websites. We want to eventaully create an organization to handle internet crime since the organization currently assigned to help (the FBI) doesn't seem to want to do anything unless lives have been threatened. Anyone who has been a victom of internet crime knows that no death threat is needed to cause huge problems in their life. In any other setting the things going on online would land the perpetrator in jail, but on the world wide web people are free to stalk, harrass, defraud, and abuse others at will. This must be stopped.

Never give personal information on the internet.
Use an assumed name for chat and message boards.
Watermark all personal photographs
Use access passwords whenever possible.
We need help, please apply for the following voulenteer positions.
Website manager
Duties Include updating and managing all aspects of out website, keeping it up-to-date and being sure it is listed with all available search engines.
Web Outreach Commitee Members
Duties include traveling the world wide web looking for people who are would benefit from joining our group.
Information Manager
Duties include research to keep our links and information up to date, will work with the website manager
Chat Moderators
Duties Include monotiering our chat community for problems and putting out the fires.
Chat Community Leaders
Duties include being an advocate foir everyone within our chat community, keeping the peace, and keeping the message boards running smoothly.
Legal Specialist
Anyone who had legal knowledge who can help us know what rights we do have.
