ONE YEAR ON...
We will not forget you.
A year has gone but it still seems
like only yesterday
we kissed your face as you went to work
on what we thought was an ordinary day.

So bravely so many faced the end
supporting each other, talking to friends
making a difference in the last moment of life
thinking of children, whispering good bye to their wife,
and we feel the heartache of those waiting
with tear stained faces, clutching your photo
hoping to find you,
hoping against hope.

We've cried so many tears
Our hearts are still numb with pain
we miss you and we think of you
... we won't let it happen again.

You died for nothing some may say
but we think another way
you died in the name of freedom,
you died for liberty
you died for those who mourn for you
from sea to shining sea
and across the world they think of you
they hold your family in their minds
and the world stands up against
the evil terrorists and their kind.

Your blood will not go wasted
your death is not in vain
Your brothers and sisters will not forget you...
We will not let this happen again.

To avenge your death is not revenge
it's not the innocents who will pay.
the world has changed because of you
and your sacrifice that day.

One year on we hold your memory close
our hearts still feel the pain
the only thing we can do now is promise...
this will never happen again.

We fly our flags and stand silent, still,
and think of those with such evil will
but more than that we think of you-
and all that your beloved ones go through-
we hold you close and say your name
the world will never be the same.
