Steve was a goaltender for Stony Brook from 1992-97, while also holding the office of President of the team from his sophomore year on. Steve's tenure on the team, both as a goaltender and officer, helped to turn a struggling team into perennial contenders. Steve held the #1 position (He also wore #1) in his junior year of 1994-95. Steve boasted some impressive games that season, beating Wagner College, 4-2; a feat which would not be repeated for some time, as Wagner was a powerhouse in the MCHC in the early-mid '90's. Steve also had 52 saves in a game that Stony Brook lost 5-2 to the Community College of Morrisville, being out shot 57-11. Steve was selected to the MCHC All-Star team that year, and played 25 minutes and allowed 4 goals. Steve graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor degree in Biology. Steve is now Head Athletic Trainer at The Rinx for Suffolk County High School Hockey League, Suffolk County PAL Junior "B" and Stony Brook University Ice Hockey. |
