Jeff came to Stony Brook in the fall of 1995, after transferring from SUNY Brockport. He led Stony Brook to their best record, at that time, in over ten years, and his career highlights only get better. In his senior year, Jeff was selected by the coaching staff to be an assistant captain. Although such a selection is not traditionally given to goaltenders, Jeff's outstanding play and leadership made him an obvious choice. In the playoffs of his senior year, Jeff stopped 60 of 67 shots put on him by Wagner College. Jeff was selected to represent Stony Brook in the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference All-Star Game in both 1995-96 and 1996-97. It was the latter game in which Jeff stopped 20 of 21 shots in the second period, the one period he was assigned. Jeff began the second period down 3-1, and came out on top, 6-4. Jeff's play, reaching a pinnacle in the final two games of his career, earned him the honor of having his #31 jersey put on display at the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, Minnesota. Jeff received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1997, and went on to get his Masters Degree in Medical Science. Jeff currently works for Pharmanet, Inc. where he is involved in clinical research. |
