The United States Navy has six different homeports for aircraft carriers, two on the Atlantic coast, three on the Pacific coast, and one in Japan. Norfolk is by far the largest of these, with five carriers based there. The twelve carriers in the USN are evenly placed on both coasts.
Each homeport listed is a link to the official government website for this naval yard. Remember that not all, in fact very few, are currently in their homeports. Although tours are sometimes given, one should check with the base before traveling.
