NEW! Eagle Award and Yeaton Hall Project is Complete: The USCGA Class of '51 has been working on highlighting the prestige of the Eagle Award, which it bestows to a deserving cadet at each graduation. As part of that effort, the class recently funded (as the class gift) a total refurbishment of the display cases at the Coast Guard Academy's Yeaton Hall, where the award can be seen. (Yeaton Hall houses the Leadership and Development Center at the Academy.) In addition to the Eagle Award display, the Class of '51 funded the Professional Maritime Studies plaque display, which describes the four qualifications that cadets must meet in order to qualify for the Eagle Award.

Click here to read the letter from the Superintendent of the Academy, which has been sent to all the trustees of the Class of 1951. This letter compliments the class for funding and supporting the Eagle award and improvements to Yeaton Hall.

For more information on what this award is all about and to whom it has been given, please go to our newly created web page devoted exclusively to the Eagle Award.

Hall of Heroes: In other news, classmate and former Commandant Admiral Paul Yost was inducted onto the Wall of Gallantry in the Hall of Heroes at Chase Hall. Congratulations to Adm. Yost for inclusion in this recognition for his service to the Coast Guard.

We're always ready for the call,
We place our trust in Thee.
Through howling gale and shot and shell,
To win our victory.
"Semper Paratus" is our guide,
Our pledge, our motto, too.
We're "Always Ready," do or die!
Aye! Coast Guard, we fight for you!
