Subject: San Diego
Weekender To: moniquer@usc.edu |
Hi guys,
I am forwarding this email
from Dan about the San Diego Weekender. I
know we said that you would
be required to do orientations to be
considered to do this gig,
but Dr. Bartner changed his mind. He wants
anyone to do this gig if
they can and your attendance at other gigs does
not matter. So, I have
sent you the info Dan gave me, and the rough
itinerary.
We really need to fill 2 buses for this gig, it's a big
deal and we will be getting
some media coverage for it and we don't want
to take just a 30 piece. We
have to show up with a really good, big
band. If you can go,
please email me as soon as possible and I will add
you to the list. Also,
if you have some conflict or need to drive
yourself or need to make
some kind of special arrangements let me know.
Ok, that is all.
Fight On!!!
Monique

Some ideas: I've also
attached the itinerary if you want to go that
way. Make what you
will of all of this. It's a Catalina-type trip,
it's a football weekend-type
trip. Sell it however you feel the band
will respond best. -=-

We need the full band to
attend the "Kick 'Em High" Show in San Diego.
"Kick 'Em High" is
a dance show that will feature 100 Rockettes and a
bunch of other dancers, but
WE ARE THE FEATURED ACT! We'll be
performing "76
Trombones" as an opener (same arrangement as Cerritos), a
set of three rock charts in
the middle of the show, and two numbers with
the full dance chorus for
the finale.
The show is on the rooftop
of the Westgate Hotel, one of the nicest
hotels in the world, and
will benefit AIDS research. Over 800 people
will be in attendance.
The producers have stepped
up to make this a GREAT trip. They are
providing
4 meals (dinner, breakfast,
lunch, and dinner)
A trip to SeaWorld
Housing at UCSD
We'll also have free time in
the Gas Lamp District of San Diego on
Friday night and NBC-TV is
planning on covering our Saturday rehearsal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
----
Dinner will be provided when
we get to S.D.
There will be a rehearsal
following dinner.
Free time in the Gas Lamp
District after rehearsal
We're staying overnight in
Stewart Hall at UCSD
Breakfast will be provided
in the morning
There will be a rehearsal at
10:00. NBC-TV is planning to cover our
appearance here.
Lunch will be provided after
rehearsal.
SeaWorld: The whole band
will go to SeaWorld after lunch.
Dinner will be provided
after SeaWorld
The show is on Saturday
night
We will return to USC after
the show.
To sum up, that's 4 meals,
time in the Gas Lamp District, overnight
accommodations with your
friends, an afternoon at SeaWorld as perks for
making this trip.
Sounds pretty good to me!
