We
hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that
they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable
Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of
Happiness.
I find it amazing
how I actually agree to this passage. A society where people are ranked and not
treating equal will not improve their lives anyhow. It is good that there are
unalienable rights, where your life, liberty and happiness should not be
affected by the government
For
cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
If you cut down
trade with all parts of the world, it is just like a person staying home, never
to see the sunlight again. Because of trading with the world, not only do you
trade items but you also trade Culture. This is how for example, Christianity
spreads through the world. Language is another thing that spread through the
world. For example, English is used worldwide now. If the king cut this off
permanently, then their country will never improve. The king did this because of
the Boston Tea Party.
For
quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
If an army broke
into my house or mentioned how they wanted to spend the night here and eat all
my food, Ifd have no choice. Since they go to war, they may need a place to
stay and food. I think that it is unfair that normal people have to provide them
with our own money we earned. The king did this because of the Boston Tea Party.
He wanted us to know how strong he was and as a punishment, to suffer.
For
imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
Taxes are an unfair way to gain money. Half of the time, they are not used with common sense. If I was taxes say, 50% for an item, then I probably wouldnft even buy it. The people mustfve suffered from the king when he taxes them without their consent. The king was very selfish and did whatever he wanted to, just to prove how much power he had.
