Dr. Jay Coble, director
USF Trumpet Ensemble to perform at International Event:

The Trumpet Ensemble from the Univeristy of South Florida has been invited to perform at the 2004 ITG Conference at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. The conference this year will be from June 15-19, and features trumpet performers and pedagogues from around the world.
The USF Trumpet Ensemble has commissioned a piece (written with the USF Trumpet Ensemble in mind) from composer Howard Buss, a resident of Lakeland, who has written extensively for brass instruments. Festive Overture is written for eight trumpets with some doubling on flugelhorn and piccolo trumpet.
The letter of invitation from Dr. David Champouillon, states: "On behalf of the International Trumpet Guild and as chair of the Trumpet Preludes Committee, I am pleased to extend an invitation to the Univeristy of South Florida Trumpet Ensemble to perform during the International Trumpet Guild 2004 Conference. This is a juried event of which only the highest level of performers are invited. It is an honor that a group from USF has been selected."
Dr. Jay Coble is the Trumpet Professor at USF. He is active in the ITG and attends many of the events. This year he was a judge of the Conference Scholarship Competition. He has performed at many past conferences.
Members of this year's ITG Trumpet Ensemble are Zack Allen, David Bethea, Aric Brian, Sukhbir Channa, Annora Daige, Chris Noto, David Torres, and Thomas Waistell.
