The Grand Mosque is located on the Arabian Gulf Street opposite Al-Sief Palace ( The Amir of Kuwait Palace ). It is considered the largest mosque in Kuwait. Its area covers forty five thousand ( 45000 ) square meters of which the building occupies twenty thousand ( 20000 ) square meters of the space . The remaining area consists of gardens with a variety of flowers , plants, and palm trees, fountains and waterfalls. On the eastern side there is a vast courtyard with a total area of sixty five hundred ( 6500 ) square meters.
