About Us

Hi, my name is Jamie Cook and the picture above is of me and my husband Steve after his graduation from Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA.  We met in 1992 when both of us were in high school.  At the time I was a freshman and dating Steve's best friend.  They went to the other high school in town and I met Steve one night when we all went out.  From the first time I saw Steve I definitely thought he was attractive!  I broke up with his friend a month later but had become good friends with Steve and his other friends.

We remained friends through high school.  Then in 1994 Steve joined the Marine Corps and off to boot camp he went.  He came back for his graduation in June of 1995 and went back to California right afterwards to continue his service.  We stayed in touch and he called when he would come home on leave.  On my 18th birthday he even sent a card and called me from Japan!!  He was on a six-month float and still remembered my birthday!  What a guy, and we weren't even dating!!

In December of 1998 Steve came home on leave and that's when, for some reason, things between us changed.  By the time he left for California we were dating.  It was hard being in a long-distance relationship but somehow we made it work.  We even had to deal with Steve going on another six-month float.  On February 14, 1999, during what I thought was one of our normal phone calls, Steve asked me to marry him!  I was very shocked but happily said yes!

We got married March 30, 1999 at the Orange County Court House when I was out visiting Steve.  In June of that year we moved to Bryan, Texas where Steve started college.  This began our life as a married couple!!  Since then we have bought our own house in College Station and with the addition of our first son, Thomas Michael, on October 28, 2001, we have been living happily ever after!!

Currently Steve is a Senior at Texas A&M.  He was chose for the Marine Corps MECEP program.  This program is for enlisted men who want to become officers.  Through this program Steve continues to be active duty but his "job" right now is to get his degree.  During his free time from school Steve enjoys working on his various Jeeps and helping friends with their vehicles.  He also enjoys off-roading but hasn't really had time lately or found a good place to go.

Since Thomas was born I've been lucky enough to be able to stay home full-time with him.  I really enjoy playing with him and watching him grow!!  I also like taking Thomas for walks, reading and just spending time with my family.
