James was originally the ACMO and EMH aboard the USS Saturn, and transferred with Commander Anderson to the Nimitz, and then followed Captain Anderson to the Mahan, where he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. During a chance encounter with a Q, Tal'Vur was transformed as a token lesson in human emotions, and chose to remain human due to the lack of technological restraints. He transferred off the Mahan back to Starfleet Command where he served a short stint as surgeon, and then took an extended leave of absence to tour the Earth and get to know his human shortcomings. He returned to Starfleet, and being unable to rejoin a ship under the command of now Commodore Steven Anderson, he choose to rejoin his first ship, the USS Saturn as ACMO. Marital Status: Single
