Character Background: Mary Davis was an only child to a single mother in Seattle on Earth. Her mother passed away when she was 12 never having told her anything about her Father or his past.  She spent the next few years going from foster home to foster home never seeming to fit in where ever she went. When she was sixteen she was kidnapped by a Ferengi that sold her into slavery. Over the next 4 years, Mary remained a slave to a Ferengi smuggler that worked all over the galaxy.  In that time she learned alot about engineering as she was forced to help make repairs to the ship. It was this experience that would help her later when she was to join Starfleet. During a smuggling run in Federation Space, the USS Godiva came across Mary's captors and freed her.  With a new found freedom and experience in engineering, Mary decided to enlist in Star Fleet Academy In the Academy, Mary did well in her Engineering classes but did even better in her classes involving ships operations.  She changed her major and graduated at the top of her class. After graduation, Mary requested to serve aboard the USS Godiva, the ship that saved her and sent her free. She worked there for two years until the ship was destroyed during a clasified mission. She has since been reassigned to the Saturn Personality Profile: Mary's time as a slave gave her a chance to learn alot about engineering and ships functions. However, she has never been good socially. This was already obvious when she was younger. She always fought with her foster family and never felt like she belonged anywhere.  This condition got worse after she was kidnapped and sold into slavery. Even after Mary had been freed she never dealt well with others.  Mary tried relationships in the Academy but the always seemed to end in failure. She tends to be more of a loner now, just sticking to her tasks at hand. Her superiors feel that its the lack of interaction with others thats holding her back from taking on the duties of Chief Operations Officer. She has the knowledge but they are not sure about her leadership skills.
