Just wanted to say the Seattle came to Cobh in Ireland this year and my family and I meet a few of the crew. You guys are a great bunch of people. Cobh is well used to american ships coming in to our harbour and the crew of the Seattle were the best. H pe you all come back one day. I have staying in contact with one crew member in particular and a good friendship has developed. Stay well everyone.

As a Cadet in the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps, I had the tremendous opportunity of being aboard the USS Seattle for a month long cruise across the Atlantic. Although I do not feel right posting a message among the people who were truly part of the crew, I h d an outstanding time and would like to share my admiration and respect for the crew of the USS Seattle who created unforgettable memories for me and made me feel great when they called me 'shipmate'. If any of you read this and remember me or other fell w cadets, please contact me. Great job on the site, Mr. Spies. it is a great way for crew members to find each other. Thanks for letting me say my part.

Awesome picture of the sea sparrow!!!! There is no room for negative comment , (about the picture not coming out) sooner or later we eat those words. I remember that rocket taking off. I had never seen anything take off that fast. Once in a lifetime picture. Way to go!!! Shipmates, Vic Scoggin

PLEASE NOTE - My Email addy has changed since I first signed up two years ago.THE ONE LISTED HERE IS GOOD. (DELETE: mauiwowi@idt.net) Buzzy and others have tried the old one without success. My apologies. I was the MM "back aft" that did all the cartoons and acted like a stooge most of the time. (That's why I made Second!) MM1 Romero thought I was destined for the Lower Level forever. Frank, if you're out there, I done good! (you old fart) I got out (running) in Palma during the '77 Med cruise and went into touring audio (Soundman - stage management). Worked with Aerosmith, Boston, Joe Cocker, Billy Squire, Mellissa Manchester, Pousette/Dart, Chick Corea/Stanley Clarke and had my own projec "all original" rock band (manager) called "AUGUST" out of Boston. Check out: www.MP3.com/jimmydangelo I did a cartoon in The Beat Magazine called 'Guido Incoginto' from '82-'87. In '88, tired of the road. the weasels, the lack of a life - joined the union (NMU) and went aboard the tugs in Boston as engineer ("chief" is the title tug engineers get - ironic, ain't it?) Soon thereafter I married a wonderful gal that stuck with me t ough all the music BS as well as the sea separations. (JW Hope - ex Seattle snipe from Upstate NY. was one of my ushers) Looking to travel wherever to attend a reunion. Last I heard the Seattle is homeported in Earle NJ. Maybe Atlantic City would be a good place. From what I hear, the casinos all about GIVE away rooms and food if you wanna gamble and anyone who goes to sea n an ammunition ship is a definate gambler! (flick, flick, puff, puff.... KA-BOOOOOOOM) Look for the credits of movie The Perfect Storm. I was on the tug (ETHEL TIBBETS - Boston Towing Co / A Reinauer Company) that was used as a camera platform for the sea scenes. Director Wolfgang Petersson waited for a No'reaster to shoot. The hollywood y ppie-face pierced-film weenies were sick as hell (so was I - but I know the the Saltine Cracker Secret!) and didn't realize one could 'projectile vomit' throught one's nose - and attendant peircings! Will be doing the TALL SHIP 2000 parade tug assists as well as the annual USS Constitution 'turnaroud' in Boston this summer (2000) on the tug JASON REINAUER. Take care, be well and remember the Seattle Super Service! Liberty call - all sections! Zaz - mauiwowi@mediaone.net Boston
