Mission Log
Marissa, daughter of Jarnis and Palmeat’e grew up in a modest environment on the home world of Trill. She has an older sibling brother named Garobiv. She is quite friendly and willing to show off her outward personality both physically and sexually.

During childhood, nothing represented a more important goal to Marissa than to be a joined Trill. She was schooled quite well in various areas of science, mathematics, technology, and the arts. She also demonstrates an extraordinary ability to visualize complex mathematical and engineering concepts.

By the age of twelve she was continually in a class learning more about Physics, Mathematics, History and Philosophy. She had one regret throughout her life of not developing deep relationships. Although sometimes feeling withdrawn in not knowing that her ambition of becoming a joined Trill would mean for herself. At times of despair, Marissa questioned if she really wanted to be devoted to that goal.

Marissa first applied to Starfleet Academy when she was sixteen years old. During her first pre-application examinations on Starbase 121 she achieved the highest score but during the psychological examination exercise she failed. She re-applied at the age of eighteen and entered into Starfleet Academy when a slot opened up mid-semester in the year of 2359. During her course load she was practically the highest academic cadet standing, for the most part. She worked very hard and gave more effort than what she ever thought possible.

After her graduation from Starfleet Academy in 2363 with academic degrees in Exobiology, Astrophysics and Temporal Physics, this quiet, shy and naive young woman resumed her goal since childhood to qualify for the Trill hosting initiate program. She had spent next two and a half years in all as an initiate with the Symbiosis Commission and hardly ever left its complex. She didn't receive basic flight experience certification of Level 3 until her last year of training. After her acceptance she chose the Frakes symbiont previously hosted by Ambassador Lekrim.
And so Marissa is now the fourth host of the Trill symbiont Frakes, with the perspective of only three previous lifetimes has left her with a narrow view of life which surprisingly skews to the unpredictable and even mischievous rather than the staid and conservative, while symbiosis itself at times has proved to be problematic in her off-world career.

Despite Marissa’s outward sexual intimacy, the symbiont Frakes’ life as both genders has if anything broadened her perspective on romance, sex, and multiculturalism, not diminished it. She generally enjoys the attention shown her by men overall and is tolerantly amused by their crushes.
As an Ensign on her first assignment, Marissa Frakes had served with Captain Andropov on the Excelsior Class starship U.S.S. Righteous. Although regarded as a junior science officer for eighteen months, Ensign Frakes was instrumental in the safety of the ship and crew. In 2367 the Borg, the Federation’s most lethal enemy began its first facilitation into conquering Earth. At the star system Wolf 359, Marissa exhibited valor and gallantry as she and a handful of others continued the attack against the Borg during an evacuation. She also proved pivotal in defending her captain and fellow senior officers against several Borg drones as they transported aboard the vessel. Just before the ship's destruction, Ensign Frakes risked her own life to save three other crewmembers trapped behind a collapsed bulkhead. Then they managed to reach a shuttlecraft and escaped. For her heroism and grace under pressure, Starfleet Command awarded Ensign Marissa Frakes with a Decoration for Valor and a field promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade.

She continued onboard the Righteous for another four years before accepting a transfer to the U.S.S. Intrepid in 2371.
It was on the Federation Starship U.S.S. Intrepid that Marissa Frakes began acquiring her reputation for unorthodox solutions during the Klingon aggression in 2372. She figured out a way to detect the phase differential in the enemy’s shields as it went to cloak. Despite her Science background, Marissa became an experienced Tactical Officer after several engagements against the Klingons. In one of those engagements, the chief of security was assumed dead on the deck floor, Marissa took over the Tactical station and was able to fire three direct hits destroying the Klingon D 7 Cruiser. Captain Gentry on his recommendation to Starfleet Command because of her grace under fire and for her inventiveness awarded Marissa Frakes with a field promotion to full Lieutenant and a Decoration for Gallantry. Later in that year, Commander Jenkins once estimated that Lieutenant Frakes uses traditional tactics only twenty-one percent of the time. She is fourth in line of command to Commander Jenkins and has had numerous mission leader commands.
At the end of the Dominion war in 2375, the Federation began to assist in the rebuilding of Cardassia and of renewing its ties along its borders. As the Intrepid was to be refitted at Space Dock for the next year, Marissa requested a re-assignment to the U.S.S. Horizon under Captain
