Warp Capable Saucer Section -
This specification drove most of the expense and difficulties with the Dauntless Class. Yet, this system seems to be the least efficient. The saucer, or Kodiak-beta, is a self-function vessel capable of cruising speed of warp 4. It has UN-tested provisions for landing, 3 phaser banks, and a rear firing torpedo launcher. Kodiak-beta keeps the primary computer core and most pure science sensor systems. The Star Drive maintains the forward photon/quantum torpedo launcher, phases banks 4-6, and most other primary systems. Called Kodiak-alpha’s the Star Drive’s top warp cruising speed is warp 6. While an impressive engineering feat, their seems to be little need for a warp capable Saucer Section.
Meta-phasic Shields -
Recently field tested in the Dathon Cluster, the Meta - Phasic shields worked uninterrupted and flawlessly for several days while exposed to high radiation and intense tactical situations. It should be noted that while Meta - Phasic shielding gives extraordinary protection natural phenomena, weapons fire easily cuts through to the ship. In the Dathon Cluster, the USS Kodiak ran tactical and Meta - Phasic shields in tandem. The specialized shielding appears as a golden energy field around the ship. 50 person Fast Cycle Transporter - Added to the Kodiak after launch, this transporter system enables rapid transport of large numbers of personnel. Originally used by the Marine Contingent it now is maintained for evacuation missions. (Deck 14 Star Drive)
War Room/ Communication Center -
The original multi-ship tactical package was not included in the USS Kodiak at launch because of cost over runs. Instead the CEO added when a fighter wing was first added to the Kodiak the War Room. This specialized communication center overlooks Shuttle Bay 2. It contains a variety of specialized communication devices including jammers, encryption/decryption boxes, and holographic tactical displays to assist in the coordination of multi-ship operations. This is purely a tactical system, and is not comparable to the more advanced tactical systems of the Galaxy and Sovereign Classes.
Holo-Probe -
This modified MKIII probe lacks the normal sensor package, but includes holo-graphic projectors. With a life span of 15 hours, the Holo-Probe can project the image of any object on record. Detailed scans will reveal the deception, however the H-probe is meant to be a decoy or distraction.
Quantum Torpedoes -
The Kodiak carries 100 quantum torpedoes in addition to the standard photon torpedoes. This would be enough for 10 full spread salvos.
