In this story, Glanzman looks at the reaction of a young sailor in his first battle action, and how he earned the nickname "Buckethead". He very nicely manages to tell the story with a great deal of humour but also a certain amount of sympathy for the new sailor.

He also takes this story to look at the general view of a battle as seen from down inside the ship, inside the fireroom, where you can hear the guns from both sides (but mostly from your own), and feel the battle, but can't see a thing. An interesting experience, well expressed in this story.

"Buckethead" would return as one of the men down below in later stories.
This issue featured one of the few times the USS Stevens featured was cover mentioned on the issue, with a logo above the OAAW masthead and the blurb "True-To-Life Battle Adventure".
