Introduction:
My name is --------- and I will be your instructor for United States Virtual Air Corps Personnel Officer Course.

Now on to the good stuff. This is the easiest course that we could design. All you have to do is read through the text and then take the test at the end. When you finish one page, hit the test link at the bottom of the page to take the course test. When you get to the test page,  answer the questions and hit the submit button when you are sure that all of the questions are answered correctly (you are permitted to return to the text as often as you need to answer the questions). If at any time you have a question or comment, return to this page and click on my name to e-mail me. You have 2 days to complete this course. Good Luck.

I. Recruitment
    A. When serving on recruiting duty you must have a thorough knowledge of USVAC Doctrine. It is suggested that you revisit the basic training material and learn it so that you can answer questions from new recruits.
    B. You must actively seek new recruits through whatever means available to you. A good place to find new recruits is message boards and chat rooms found on flightsim and role playing related web-sites.
    C. The most common duty of the recruiter is to answer e-mail and forward new enlistment applications to Personnel Command (PERSCOM).

II. Retention
    A. Each wing has a Retention Officer assigned to the Administration Squadron for the purpose of counseling airmen on re-enlistment.
    B. The importance of retention should be taught to all airmen nearing there Expected Termination Date (ETD). We need every available airman to stay in the USVAC to help us grow and complete our missions. By the time an airman reaches his ETD they are highly trained and usually in a leadership position.
    C. The terms of re-enlistment are generally the same (3,6, and 9 months) for all OSC's, but occassionally shorter terms may be needed if readiness levels fall.
    D. Periodically there are retention incentives such as awards and promotions. The Retention Officer should know all incentives to offer them where they apply.

III. Administration
    A. Each wing has an Administration Officer assigned to the Administration Squadron for the purpose of gathering, disseminating and forwarding information to the relevant personnel.
    B. While each individual airman and their commander is responsible for their personal service records, the Admin. Officer has the duty of ensuring that this information gets updated promptly for every person in their wing.
