ABOUT OUR LOCAL
Chartered in 1956 by the United Steelworkers of America , and organized on the expertise of the now defunct Local 3250 (Canada Works) local 5328 was established on the strong tradition of the Canadian section of the Steelworkers and of District 6 .
Parkdale Works was at the time the newest plant of The Steel Company of Canada,
today Stelco Inc.
In 1993 the fully owned subsidiary of Stelwire Ltd. was incorporated as a separate Company comprising the Parkdale and the Burlington Works Plants.
