- Past Events
- Byzantine Art Seminar - held in Semester 1. Guest speakers were Fr Leslie Kostoglou, Proffesor Michael Jeffries and Mrs Vera Smirnova. A very informative expos? on the history, purpose and theology behind Icons. Held in conjunction with the University of New South Wales Orthodox Fellowship.
- Bowling Night - Held during the mid-year break. A great night not short on laughs was had by all, as we visited Manhattan to test our bowling skills.
- Video Night - Held in Early Semester 2. Gathered at the Belmore Church youth centre to watch "Gladiator". Enjoyed a feast as well as agreat film, not to mention the games afterwards.
- Springwood Trip, Monastery of St George - Held during the Olympic break. A fantastic outing to the monastery of St George in Springwood, about an hour and a half out of Sydney. Enjoyed peaceful surrounds, a charming bushwalk that ended in a breathtaking view of the Western Plains. The highlight of the day, though, was undoubtedly the talk given by a visiting iconographer, after which we held the Vespers service. Fun and games were enjoyed after a shared lunch. Joining us was the ever-curious Coptic Society.
- Soccer Match - Held during the Olympic Break. SUOF vs. Blacktown Youth Group in neutral Parramatta. A very close match in which Blacktown emerged the victors 11 - 10. Though SUOF were missing some crucial players...
- End of Year Picnic - Held after exams. A memorable day at Centennial Park. Lots of fun games, plus another great soccer match. A surprise was also in store for a lucky few.
