Rice-Eccles Stadium

Location: 451 South 1400 East, Salt Lake City, UT

This is the home of the University of Utah Running Utes Football Team. With a capacity of 45,017, it has been a venue of enthusiasm and excitement. It was reinnovated during 1998 season in preparation of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. It is also the venue for many famous performers such as U2 and Rolling Stone. In Feb 2002, Rice-Eccles Stadium was priviledged to be the host of the opening and closing ceremony site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Rice-Eccles Stadium is carpeted with artificial turf. It is the one of the three practice venues of the Running Utes football team. In spring, it serves as the venue for the Red vs White spring game. During the upcoming 2005 season, Running Utes football team will host six opponents, starting with University of Arizona Wildcats on Sept 2nd. Currently, it is the home field for Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake.
