2002’s UGS annual conference will take you
to a location created for exploration in the world famous Park City, Utah.
The inspirational mountain and canyon scenery alone will refresh and enlighten
your senses and open your creativity. Then top that with fresh new topics
and workshop experiences and unlimited networking opportunities and you’re
in store for a conference experience that will top all previous experiences.
There will be three (3) tracks you can choose from. Stay on one
track or mix them up and explore them all.
-
"Telling the Story"
is the ‘how’, ‘why’ and ‘experience’ of telling our stories. It’s exploring
the power in the ‘telling’ . This is beyond reminiscence and into the heart
of understanding and validating what aging means to each individual.
-
"Concepts of Caring"
is a track designed for all of us who are giving care. What does it mean
to us as individuals and as professionals when we provide care to another?
We will explore, define and refine the portrayal and expertise of all caregivers.
-
"The Body’s Story". Just as hearts
and emotions have a story to tell, so too do bodies ‘speak’ to where we
stand on the path of aging. This trek will explore the roadblocks, which
stifle the ‘living’ of the aging process, and open new pathways of healthier,
fuller living.
"Rejuvenation Room"
A mini-retreat will embrace each conference attendee in this experiential
workshop with the balm of rejuvenation.
Enjoy massage, aromatherapy, music therapy and more.
Evening activities:
During the evening you can network with your peers at a no-host dinner
at the hotel or enjoy other great dining
opportunities in Park City restaurants.
Beginning at 8:00 p.m. there
will be a facilitated storytelling session where you can join in
telling your ‘stories’
or sit back and listen to the sharings
taking place.
Conference goals:
The goals of the UGS Annual Conference are to define and promote healthy
aging through personal and
professional exploration of sharing personal histories, developing active
lifestyles and providing innovative
caregiver information and services.
Exhibitors:
There will be interactive exhibitors who
will have new information, products and services to share with all three
conference tracks. Rest assured there will be exhibits which will interest
you and be relevant to your needs.
