Cryptozoology

(Articles offsite at E2)

Bernard Heuvelmans coined the term "cryptozoology," the study of hidden animals, to describe the investigation of such things as sea serpents and Bigfoot. More often than not, it involves the study of false leads and wishful thinking. Still, I've written a handful of articles on subjects cryptozoological for E2. They have been linked here, along with other stories of enigmatic and mysterious doings.
The photo of Civil War soldiers with a dead pteranodon conveys a weird sense of reality. Producers of the short-lived tv show Freakylinks (2000-2001) created it, and when they placed it online before the show's first broadcast as part of a promotional gimmick, it set cryptozoologists abuzz. The fake riffs on the "Thunderbird photo," a supposedly lost Holy Grail of cryptozoology.
